NAUTICAL DAYS PRIZE WINNERS!
Comox, BC – August 2025
The Vancouver Island Down Syndrome Society (VIDSS) brought smiles and excitement to this year’s Comox Nautical Days with a free prize draw that delighted festival-goers and supported community engagement.

Held during the popular August long weekend event, the VIDSS booth offered attendees a chance to win a range of prizes generously donated by local businesses and supporters. The draw, open to all visitors, helped raise awareness of the society’s work supporting individuals with Down syndrome and their families across Vancouver Island.

Among the lucky winners was Chris, who took home the top prize—an exhilarating mail run flight, offering breathtaking views of the Island and surrounding coast. Pam and Victoria each received golf passes, perfect for enjoying a day on the green. Two more recipients were treated to coffee prize packs, adding a touch of local flavour to the giveaways.

“We’re thrilled with the community’s support and excited to have connected with so many people during Nautical Days,” said a representative from VIDSS. “The prize draw was a fun way to engage visitors, share information about our mission, and celebrate together.”

VIDSS extends heartfelt thanks to all prize sponsors (Coral Air, Storey Creek Golf Club, Saratoga Beach Golf Club, and Royston Roasting Co), and community members who stopped by, entered the draw, and helped make the event a success. All proceeds and donations collected during the weekend will go toward ongoing programs and initiatives supporting individuals with Down syndrome and their families throughout Vancouver Island.
