Bridging the Digital Divide

CDSS continues to focus upon impactful initiatives that create tangible change around issues of equity and inclusion for the Canadian Down syndrome community.

The Bridging the Digital Divide program brings digital tablets to individuals with Down syndrome in Canada who cannot afford them. Why? By providing tablets and access to learning, organization and better communication tools through a variety of resource apps, many benefits are introduced. Research has shown that people with Down syndrome can show improvements in the areas of mental health, communication, independence, and social interaction through technology.

CDSS is now accepting applications for the Bridging the Digital Divide campaign! This is a great opportunity for those who could benefit from learning, communication and socialization through technology. If this sounds like you, your child, or an adult with Down syndrome that you support, we encourage you to apply today! Applications are being accepted until February 28, 2022.

CDSS is striving to bring technology to Canadians with Down syndrome who cannot afford it through their new technology initiative, Bridging the Digital Divide. Through funds raised, CDSS is able to provide Android tablets and resource apps to a limited number of Canadian individuals in 2022. Their application process allows CDSS to determine which individuals have the greatest need at the current time. All applications are held in the strictest of confidence.

Again….The application deadline is February 28th, so don’t delay! Details about the program, as well as the application are at this link: https://cdss.ca/technology-initiative/
